BIOGRAPHY (as written by Christopher Cassidy):
Kip Weakling was all about having fun in the basement of your mamma's house. We were mostly influenced by contrasting artists ( which is mostly why our sound was hard to figure out --and also what lead to our break up).

Our fist show was with the ever entertaining band TOAST in March of 1997, followed by a horrible performance at the University Pub. We sucked... over and over again! But toward the end, we did manage to have some good shows. The XPY Festival - no one saw us, as we were on at 11 AM - but we played well! The Shelter in Detroit - my personal favorite - we played to a packed
house, and were well recieved. Mostly because our bassist Mike, kept humping the pole in the middle of the stage! Sweet! The final show - January 1998 - at the Loop. It was the first time we all agreed that we played a great show. We all had fun. We all stayed in tune! Too bad it was the last Kip Weakling venue! Thanks to Ghoti and Grumpy for opening up for us!

Kip did hit the studio. We recorded an eight song demo, hoping to capture our crap in spirit. It didn't! Low budget meant low quality - and the demo never surfaced. I guess that's what you can expect for $300!

The death of Kip - started almost at the beginning. We all had different ideas of where to go and what to do. Towards the end, I started drumming for The Movies. The Kip guys didn't seem to mind --until we started playing shows, and I became really enthusiastic about it. It was a nice change from the Kip thing!

Matt Waite went on to Toronto --last I heard, he's still playing for fun. Derek disappeared for a while, but every once in a whlie, we bump into each other. Mike bought some turntables and was getting into the DJ scene. I stayed with The Movies breifly, before leaving with their bassist Jen to
form Yellowdek with long time friend Milan Jilka. From there, it was on to Pleasure, with William Ford, Joaquim DeSantos, and Craig MacLauchlan. Then I escaped and disappeared... never to resurface!
